Patanga: an intentional community near Bellingen

Patanga was established in 1981 on 66 hectares of Bellinger River flats, gentle slopes and heavily forested areas in Thora Valley, New South Wales, Australia.

The property is equally divided between residential, agricultural and native habitat uses.

Values that inspire our community include recognition of the spiritual dimension of relationships and responsibility for the land and its native flora and fauna. Communal participation is encouraged and individual privacy is respected.

Our community unfolds organically without rigid expectations. We value harmonious day-to-day living and recognise that our diversity and differences contribute to the strength of the community as a whole.
